The Branch HR Administrator  provides local HR guidance and support for the branch leadership team and employee population in alignment with Capital HR practices.

Education / Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related experience required
  • PHR / SPHR Certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years Human Resources Generalist experience with demonstrated experience developing strong collaborative business relationships
  • High level of confidentially with sensitive information and professionalism
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment law, employee relations and corporate policies and procedures
  • Ability to model the Capital values and to provide innovative solutions
  • Ability to drive and be accountable for results in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to anticipate, analyze, and prioritize complex problems including:                                               * Ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, both verbally and in written format.     * Strong listening and conflict resolution skills.                                                                                             * Strong presentation and training facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HRIS systems Paycom or other.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.

This position operates a commercial truck to deliver product to customers according to written orders, ensuring accurate product delivery at each stop.

Principal Accountabilities & Deliverables:

  • Operates commercial tractor and trailer safely at all times including exiting and entering the yard, driving on public roads and delivering product to customer facilities.
  • Provides excellent customer service in an efficient manner
  • Conducts all driving in a safe and courteous manner
  • Maintains DOT certifications and logs according to state and federal regulations and company policy
  • Secures loads with belts and protects loads by tarping as necessary
  • Assists unloading by removing tarps and belts assuring that correct product is removed from the trailer
  • Maintains paperwork as necessary on deliveries and returns
  • Maintains clean interior of vehicle
  • Submits requests for cleaning of vehicle to keep neat appearance
  • Presents personal appearance as pleasant, neat and clean as a representative of Capital
  • Performs all required pre and post trip inspections on vehicle
  • Promptly reports all truck maintenance issues and/or equipment failures
  • Maintains a current, correct and legal logbook
  • Informs supervisor in advance when legal driving and working hours are getting close to limit
  • Weighs loads as required and does not attempt to drive a vehicle that is overweight
  • Attend Drivers Safety Meetings as required
  • Performs other work related duties as assigned by your supervisor and be flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur during the course of employment

Inside Sales

We are currently looking for an Inside Sales Rep for our Salt Lake City Branch, reporting directly to our Inside Sales Manager. This position will work to satisfy the needs of the customer by means of information, products, problem solving and services available through Capital. Some of the key essential functions are:

  • Receives and writes orders from customers over the phone providing pricing, product
    and delivery information
  •  Services customers at the walk in counter who may need information or product
  •  Fields phone and in-person inquiries providing pricing/quotes from established price
    books/lists and product information
  •  Coordinates orders with yard personnel
  •  Assists customers with problems
  • Communicates order information and status to appropriate Account Managers for their
    customers
  • Participates in physical inventories
  •  Maintain on-going product knowledge

EWP Wood Cutter/ Forklift Operator

Position Summary: Operates a forklift to lift, load, or move material. Operates chainsaw to cut material as needed. Inspects and maintains forklift and chainsaw equipment as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Notifies Supervisor of any necessary equipment maintenance/repair.
  • Bands lumber product for storage or shipping.
  • Assists in moving of inventory for storage within the yard area as directed.
  • Properly stores inventory, keeping it level and covered as necessary.
  • Assists in inventory and/or cycle counts as directed.
  • May operate saw equipment intermittently.
  • Assists in keeping all lanes and areas clean and clear for traffic.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Remains flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur throughout the course of employment.

  • 1-4 years previous experience with forklifts and other machinery (as designated by and at the discretion of the Division and Operations Manager for the particular position available).
  • Active Forklift Certification.
  • Good knowledge of lumber products.
  • Basic Math skills.

  • Able to lift, shift, and push weight up to 75 pounds.

Account Manager – Home Center

We are currently looking for an Account Manager for our Home Center Accounts at our Sacramento Branch reporting directly to our Sales Manager. The position will serve customers by selling products and meeting customer needs. Responsible for selling products, fielding questions, and resolving customer complaints. Services existing accounts and establishes new accounts. Gives sales presentations, submits orders, and submits activity and results reports to superiors. Some of the key essential functions are:

  • Sell/market Company products and services
  • Quote and negotiate product prices on behalf of the Company to customers, using independent judgment and discretion based on knowledge of current market conditions and other factors
  • Attention spent on building, maintaining and fostering Home Center relationships at the store level as well as district level

Yard Assistant – Night Shift

• Duties may include, once properly trained and certified as required: yard clean up, product receiving, breakdown, product handling and operating yard equipment
• Pick up all foreign material in yard in order to maintain a safe work environment and clean appearance
• Collect recyclable materials and store as directed
• Sweep the yard safely using a mechanical sweeper if available
• Review supply inventory with Supervisor to maintain necessary level
• Notify Supervisor of any maintenance or safety issues observed
• Manually stack lumber products as instructed
• Assist with inventory and/or cycle counts as directed
• May operate a gas powered tug to move lumber products
• Package materials and keep packaging area clean and organized
• Assist in keeping all lanes and other areas clean and clear for traffic
• May assist in general yard housekeeping and chores as assigned
• May use saw to cut lengths from lumber as needed to fill an order if properly trained
• Keep an inventory of stickers, corners and wrap
• May occasionally bar code
• Perform other work related duties as assigned by your supervisor and be flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur during the course of employment.
